Lakshmi in Oval

Lakshmi, goddess of abundance and grace, is rendered in the Chamba art tradition, where royal households once commissioned silk embroideries as acts of devotion. Seated beneath a ceremonial canopy, she holds a lotus in one hand and pours prosperity from her kalash with the other, surrounded by cypress groves, blossoming flora and a watchful sun among the stars. Resham threads trace the divine form with controlled fluidity; Zardozi and Dabka illuminate the work with metallic depth.
