A House for Indian Artistry
House of Sissendi was born to bring India's most exquisite artisanal work into the modern home — not as artefacts, but as living objects. Each cushion, each lamp, each platter is made by hand, rooted in place, and built to be passed down.
We work directly with families and master artisans across Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhuj, and Mithila — paying fair wages, honouring lineage, and making sure every story behind a piece travels with it.
How We Work
Direct from the artisan
No middlemen. We commission and pay artisan families directly, at fair piece-rates, and credit each maker by name where they consent.
Slow, by design
A single cushion can take 80–120 hours of hand embroidery. Our drops are small. Our edits are careful. We do not rush craft.
Built to be passed down
Pure silk, hand-spun cotton, sheesham wood, brass. We choose materials that age well — pieces that look better in twenty years than they do today.
